There's a reason this place has been open for so long - the fish is fresh! The chefs take special care in preparing each serving with love. The presentation is beautiful and the flavors match well and pop. The staff is super friendly and for the price there's few places that could match it in the Denver area. They have a great selection of beer and sake to wash everything down with and the ambience is nice and retro. Come here to be satisfied with sushi! This was quite the experience. From the start the staff was friendly and attentive and Juan and our waitress were on top of every detail wish I had gotten her name; they provided perfect service. The food was amazing my favorite had to be the Green Hornet Rolls. Even though i enjoyed every single item we ordered it all went well and tasted delicious from the start. I honesty didn't expect the freshness as we are far from the Ocean but it was one of the best sushi experiences ever. I would highly recommend and hopefully can return soon try every item possible. Pretty good place. I've had takeout a couple times at this point and they're very welcoming. While some of their sushi is about as expensive as you'd expect from a sushi place, they have a couple budget rolls that are of far higher quality than the grocery-store stuff yet competitive in price. That's amazing on its own and probably explains their popularity a bit. From what I've discussed with other customers while waiting for my food, everyone has nothing but good things to say. Sonoda’s Sushi is great! Their prices are excellent when compared to other sushi restaurants of similar caliber, the sushi is good, and the service was very friendly and timely. We were even given free green tea ice cream and sushi-themed calendars at the end of our meal! I also appreciated the aquariums and neat fish :) We also attended with a friend who has shellfish allergies and they gladly accommodated her and she had no issues during our meal. One of the most underrated sushi experiences in Denver. Everything is fresh and delicious. My other favs include Matsuhisa and Sushi Sasa. The quality is the same but the vibe is much more low key and doesn’t have all the frills it’s just super chill. Wear jeans no one cares. Wait staff and the guys at the sushi bar are all amazing!! The owner is always working and always smiling. Worth a trip about twice a week and it still won’t break your bank!

This is what you get when you order the shrimp and vegetable tempura appetizer. The box used to be so full it almost wouldn't close. I've been a loyal customer for well over a decade, almost 2 infact. Service, quality and quantity for the price has gone up. Very disappointing. Customer service has taken a dive as well. Really unfortunate. You'd think they would support those that support them. This is a favored place of mine, but now thinking, 3 strikes you're out. It's time to branch out and find my sushi fix elsewhere. My only recommendation is stick to sushi. They can't short you on rolls... Very fresh ingredients especially the sashimi. The sea eel, freshwater eel, and sweet shrimp are the best I ever had. Rainbow and green hornet rolls are my favorite rolls. The staff was ok, but sometimes were very slow. Would recommend.
