What a gem near Barrydale! Very pet-friendly. My dog even got a cute doggie biscuit. Gorgeous lawns and a stunning view of the mountains. Service was great and the food outstanding! Highly recommended!

Great views of the mountains and good food. Enjoyed a decent sized and tasty burger with skinny fries. They have a small menu which is executed very well.

This photogenic stop on the road between Swellendam and Ashton is well worth a visit. Home made goods and a nice menu. I had a venison pie and hot chocolate whole enjoying the view on a cold winters day.

Great farm stall to stop at whilst on a road trip for coffee and a meal. Best spanspek around and a must buy.

We had a wonderful stay. Also visited the towns of Ashton, Swellendam and Montague.Clean and pretty. Enjoyed the best pies ever at the Spanspek Padstal.||We unfortunately had to return a day ealier due to business reasons.||Will definitely go again soon.

Decided to stop here on our way back from Witsand to Cape Town, on the R60. There was no loadshedding and the owners had their work cut out trying to serve and get food prepared. The place was also very busy as 1 car left another arrived. The area is very peaceful and pretty so made the slightly longer wait pass by quickly. We had venison pie and quiche. Very nice and well priced Good place to stop for a bite , close to Ashton with a few other sights to see along the way Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person R 50–100 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Quiche Met Slaai of Chips

Stopped in on 5 Feb , right next to the road R60 & near to Ashton turnoff . ||||We were on our wat back to Cape Town from Witsand & decided to stop for a quick lunch bite . Loadshedding was making it tough for the owners but they managed . I had some venison pie & my wife a quiche . ||||The wait was not to long considering the loadshedding & the views made the time pass quickly . The meal was enjoyable & it got quite busy as people were in & out all the time

Our favourite spot to drive to on a Sunday for an outing - whether it is for brunch or a delicious pizza with a bottle of wine. Beautiful view, friendly owners, great service, lovely items in the gift shop, fresh products & meals. Highly recommended!

This newish stop north of Swellendam on the Ashton road is a little gem. The items on sale were quality and some of it quirky (we stop at many places along the road and this one had items I have not seen before), and the fruit for sale fresh. The bathroom was lovely and clean (with a pair of 2 fresh roses in a vase!). The coffee was great, and we had a lovely view sitting outside drinking. Altogether an exceptionally good experience.
