Great little gem in a beautiful park, minutes away from the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. Food was amazing, coffee was superb, and the service impeccable. Have in mind the place is self serve so you’ll have to go get your order placed at the top of the stairs and then collect it when the bell rings. You’ll ask have to pickup after yourself and leave your table as you found it - cleaning spray and table towels can be found on top of the garbage disposal island. Prices are unbeatable for the location! Overall, amazing find!!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

There were 3 women sitting outside who started shouting at me as I walked in and were very confrontational as I wanted to enter the cafe. They said no! And gentured a cross sign with their arms. I have no idea what they were saying but they were definitely unfriendly. Rudest people that I have met in Sofia. Bringing my business elsewhere. Meal type Breakfast Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

As you stroll west from the Nevski Cathedral you will encounter a small triangular parking area in sight of the National Museum of Natural History. Just along the side of this building, almost hidden from view, you will find a small tree covered area filled with tables and chairs... This is the location of Spetema Caffe. We stumbled upon it by accident and decided to take a short break before exploring the joining Royal Garden... You have to look for it but you will find a very small kiosk at the left rear of the table area. We ordered two cups of coffee, one with milk. The price, 2.20 lev. That's just $1.29 (€1.12) for both! Of course the Spetema area offers much more - the menu is in Bulgarian - but there are photos of sandwiches and other available offerings. A very pleasant way to spend a few minutes in a very beautiful park.

Great place to stop for a little while. I had the white frappe and it was nice. You’ll go here basically just for its amazing location.

Very pleasant coffee, at the end of the former Tsar's garden (the park around the Bulgarian emperor's palace), a nice place to drinking something fresh in a hot day under the shadow of huge umbrellas.
