About a month ago, while requesting an iced green tea, the barista, in a less-than-friendly-voice asked, “Are you sure you’re allowed?” After assuring her I was allowed, she followed, with a similarly judgmental tone, stating, “When I was pregnant, I didn’t have anything.” She continued making hurtful, inappropriate, comments. I ignored.
Yesterday, due to the green tea shortage, my husband called several stores asking if they had green tea. The same barista (mentioned above) answered the phone at this location and said, “Yes”. However, she said they only had enough for a one Venti and offered to do a phone order. I drove there to purchase our order - and was met by the same barista. She not only rolled her eyes, but also questioned if “I’m allowed” again. I had to tell her, “It’s for my husband” just to receive our drinks. I then asked for an additional Venti Green Tea. She said she had plenty and made the drink. She made certain to add, “We don’t do phone orders.” I replied, “Even my husband was surprised when you offered.”
This entire situation appears unworthy of review. But, I posted about what happened on Facebook, and a friend noted that the barista likely needs retraining because she may be treating others poorly as well.
This Starbucks advertises $5 Friday specials and then closes early. Says open till 7 pm, but went in at 3 and already closed. Asked a manager and she said they were at lunch. I came back and was then told they were closed for the day. So disappointing.
