I really hate riding reviews like this because I feel all restaurants have something special about them. That being said Steel City has their own charm and atmosphere that's cozy and comfortable, however I've been there three times and each time certain things have been different which have made me less and less likely to return. Instead of going to the motions I'll just focus on my last visit. 18 piece wings, fries, and two slices of pizza will ordered along with a water and iced tea. Long story short the fries were overcooked and cold, the wings were sauced properly but other than that they had no taste plus the hair on it didn't help. The pizza was okay Even if the crust was a bit doughy. The tea was okay and so was the water until I noticed there was a lemon seed stuck on the bottom of my glass, that speaks volumes about cleanliness and quality control. It's a nice place in a good location so I hope they turn it around to restore their glory before it's too late... Lunch Excellent greeting and seating, nice ambiance and a very good server. The pizza all around was delicious with quality toppings and fresh dough. Cold beer with a good IPA variety and nice lemonade.

I ate here on 9/22/23. This place has a nice decore and great customer service! I was visiting town and just wanted some pizza. They did not disappoint! I ordered their cheese pizza and some spaghetti and meatball. The spaghetti was simple but classic and flavorful; the meatballs were very juicy. The pizza was perfect! On 12/18/23, I ordered a calzone and small garden salad. This was my first time eating from this restaurant because I don’t live in Charleston. The calzone was okay. The small garden salad was definitely not worth $6.25! Very disappointed in the portion received! Service Take out Food: 3

Love Steel City! The pizza is always perfectly cooked with melty cheese and crispy crust! They have many different choices from original pepperoni for the kiddos to a more adult menu. The salads and sandwiches are just as good. We always like to go here for pizza nights. Where to start- we called in to place a take out order and the hostess (I assume) took our order. She was very rude and clearly unhappy. It was to the point we almost cancelled our order. They made us pay over the phone before they would place the order which doesn’t feel very secure, but whatever. We show up and are greeted rudely by the hostess who points to the “take out” sign by the bar. I go to the bar and she says she be there in a moment (which of fine) but then continues to ask people if they want another round and clears stuff off the bar. She finally comes up and tell me I owe money. Which makes no sense because they said it’s company policy to make us pay over the phone. Then the bar tender goes back and is gone for a little bit. She says she had to get them to make the salad just then which I can tell it was quickly thrown together. Can’t believe I paid $10.95 for the terrible salad.
