An excellent American Breakfast.. the staff are amazing beyond words.. even as the place got insanely busy they still showed up and paid attention. Let tell you how sweet this was.. my son and I stopped to get some pie... Well they werent open but a few people working were in there about to leave.. I said we just stopped for a piece of pie but we will come another time .. they were so kind and gave us almost a complete pie and it was so yummy! Excellent food, served quickly and accurately. Staff is fast and very efficient. In fact, our food was served so fast, I don't think the ink had dried on the order ticket yet. Plus, it all tastes just like home cooking.. not fast food. The servers made us feel welcome and like family. Strawn's is definitely my new go-to place to eat. My Fiancee and I tried Strawn's for the first time today and we absolutely loved it! Sima was our Server and she was excellent!! The whole staff were very Friendly, Owner is super nice and we will definitely be back and may be our new spot while we're in town. Thank you everyone for making us feel welcome. Looking at the menu, you think this place is a little pricy until the food comes out: Large portions made to order and fresh. A side of bacon comes with four substantial crispy strips. Toast is delivered to your table warm and buttery ready for jam. The pancakes are generous and hot, and you are served a warm vat of syrup. A fun mural of the local downtown river area with stars recent and past is fun to peruse while you wait. Hot coffee and serious servers who do their jobs well await you. TOO thumbs up. Walk in, sit anywhere. Just make sure your waitress sees you... I was ignored and it wasn't that busy....The owner noticed me after 10min. I was ignored by the young new colored waitress flirting with the two colored cooks.... I've been going here for years because the food is great! Not everyone is meant to be a waitress...it's time she go work at a Burger fast food place before she start waiting tables! Don't sit near the windows...anywhere else but. Depending on the time of day it is, this place gets crowded quick. Service is usually fast though so the wait wont be too long. I usually get pancakes but tried the waffle this time, it's good but could be a little sweeter. The hashbrowns are my absolute favorite! We have been eating at Strawn's for years. All their vegetables are great, but our favorite has been the chicken fried steak. So, on our last visit, my wife and I both had the chicken fried steak, but they seemed to be different. Each one had lots of gristle. I don't know if the restaurant started buying a cheaper quality of meat or from a different supplier, but we were disappointed. We'll keep eating there, but be a little more reluctant to get the CFS. Awesome! The nicest staff. Dani was a treat. Food was like Granny was cooking it for us😁 the owner actually suggested other great places for us to eat and enjoy stopping town. Five stars all around! Oh and the prices are unbeatable! Great job you guys. This is what I want to experience when I go out.❤️❤️
