Got the blackened shrimp tacos and the shrimp was not blackened, just grilled. I didn't make an issue of it but it is not what I ordered. Hence the 4-star rating. I am fairly easy to deal with and unless it is a glaring mistake I won't make an issue of it. I drove an hour because I knew I was going to be served "real" farm-raised catfish. What I didn't know is that I was going to receive such great customer service from the time we stepped into the restaurant. We were greeted a d seated right away by a very kind gentleman. Our server, Malena, was awesome sauce. She exhibited great customer service. Everything was great, it was worth the drive! Fast Friendly Service and clean atmosphere. Plenty of seating areas. Dimmed lights and old pictures on the walls. Food was not the best, they serve you small portions and are overpriced for what you get. The Cozumel Fish was flavorful and the only MEAL that was really enjoyable that we had. A variety of small scented Candles on the way out on the shelf smelled nice but again not priced so we figured they cost too much and not worth it, honestly we were just ready to go. Our job hired them for catering. I can't eat shrimp due to allergies, so I was going to abstain from eating any food. However, the very kind lady - who clearly understood food allergies - told me that they fried chicken tenders AND fries in a separate thing of grease that did not have shrimp or fish fried in it. Not only was I so surprised that a CATERING TRUCK took advance preparations to feed people with allergies, they even knew enough to change their gloves when serving my food. Most food establishments simply cannot be bothered to do half of this but Sudies did. If I'm in the area, I will drop by and eat at the main restaurant! Hadn't been here in a few years. It's Father's Day, so we were anticipating a long wait time, but to our surprise, we ended up waiting no more than 5 minutes to be seated. Our waiter Miguel was kind and, even though he was waiting on a couple of other tables, he serviced us well. We did feel it was a bit pricey, but the food was delicious. We had the boudin balls to start, which were yummy! And the hush puppies they bring while you wait are so good as well. I ordered the Magnolia Seafood Pasta (the chicken and mushroom option), and my husband had the Catfish Conzumel. Both dishes were delicious. We also ordered the catfish with mac and cheese and cheeseburger and fries for the kiddos, which they ate up. Overall our experience went well and we'd visit again. The place is Amazing, food is ALWAYS hot and fresh. No lamp warmers there. They make your food when you order. Let's talk about those yummy hush puppies they give you while you wait for them to cook! 😋 If you're in Pasadena definitely give this place a try. Portions are huge and the prices are right! It had been over 10 years since here.. so we decided to stop by.. salad was large and fresh with way too many carrots. Baked potatoes were good and cooked perfectly. Fish was just fish.. nothing really to brag over.. shrimp looked like frozen. And tasted just OK... shrimp are my favorite and it sure wasn't these... and I sure wouldn't drive all the way back over there for those or the fish. Crafts were cute and I bought 2 pair of earrings..I understand why it had been over 10 years since there.. waitress was nice.. banana Pudding is a no as well.. We just sat down and Before we even received our food… Totally Impressed!!! Ms. Linda Is The Bomb!!! we just happened upon this place because I wanted crab legs so we went to Hooters first sat there for 10 minutes got a water and a tea, never saw the waitress again…so we left and came here completely different experience… Thank You Ms. Linda🫶🏼❤️🌹To Be Continued!!! We have been here twice and have had a great experience each time. They currently have a hand washing station at their entrance and they are quick to clean and disinfect the tables. Once cleaned they place a layer of butcher paper on the table. Throughout the week they have amazing daily specials. The most common special it's the all you can eat shrimp. This isn't your typical all you can eat shrimp as you have the choice between regular fried shrimp, coconut, spicy and golden (which is shrimp coated in corn meal). The shrimp was really good (we tried a round of each). My favorite is the coconut shrimp but my wife thinks the all star is their cole slaw. The service has also been to notch. On each occasion we have received great service. Their staff has always made the place inviting and are very attentive to your needs. During our last visit the place got really busy but their staff including the owner did an amazing job serving guests. I definitely recommend this place.
