Sunrise was a great breakfast spot. We arrived at 11 am on a Sunday and it was packed. But we got right in. There were 5 of us and we were all pleased. The waitress was friendly and efficient. She had an electronic device when taking orders. Although it was very busy, our food was ready in a short time. I ordered sunrise potatoes which are loaded hashbrowns that were great! I also ordered pecan pancakes. They were regular pancakes with pecans in them. I was hoping for additional spices. But they were fresh and the pancakes recipe they use is good. If you're looking for a great-tasting breakfast, friendly smiling service, and reasonable fare, this is the first place you should try. I love food, I'm not a critic, but I write recipes and cook many meals for many people. I believe I have a fair pallet of tasty food! Imagine my surprise when I discovered Sunrise Family Restaurant in Stoughton. Wonderful people, great food, and extremely pleasant staff. Family-owned, they treat everyone as part of their family. I make this excursion once per month, just to be there for their breakfast. I take friends. Why? The food is that good and they make us feel welcome. I order off menu most of the time. It's not a problem for this restaurant, and your drinks are ALWAYS full. If you're looking for a great place with fantastic food and great service, give them a try. This is one of those places you go to once because you're driving through and think "Can't go wrong with a simple family restaurant". My advice would be just keep driving and find something else. The food was passable but they may have the worst coleslaw in Wisconsin. Service was slow even though the restaurant didn't appear busy. The only times we talked to our server was when they took our order and when we got our food. No drink refills or checking to make sure everything was good. Stopped in here for breakfast. We were greeted and seated promptly. The staff was friendly and attentive. We both ordered omelets and we shared an order of American fries. I'm a fan of biscuits and gravy. When ordering this item, the restaurant either makes it well or they don't. This place is a "don't." The biscuit was not good. The gravy barely had any sausage, and for some reason, it tasted kind of sweet. Hash browns were nice and crispy, and the scrambled egg was well cooked. Stopped here at the suggestion of an acquaintance and glad we did my buddy had breakfast and I had lunch as both were available and I believe just about everything on menu is available all the time. It was busy and I now see why but we got a booth after a couple minutes just had to wait while they cleared the table and cleaned it. Our server got our drinks and water right away and gave us time to check out the menu. She came after a couple minutes and we ordered I got the bacon cheeseburger with fries and my buddy got a bacon and cheese omelet with hash browns and whole wheat toast. Our orders were brought to the table in good time and they were both nice and hot and excellent. I will definitely be back again Sunrise Family Restaurant has been added to my favorites list. My eggs were over cooked, but when they fixed it, everything was DELICIOUS!! Hearty portions that will fill ya! I would have given full ☆s but, the server wasnt very welcoming and seemed like she cared to help only regulars that she knew! Cute little spot to enjoy some Good Homestyle Food!!
