I have indulged in a late lunch at Tabu Shabu twice. The staff did a great job of describing the options and preparation process, after learning it was my first visit. They checked in several times to ensure things were going well and offered advice. There are a variety of protein options and the vegetables gave "farm to table vibes." This place has many characteristics of a shabu place. 1) The place is clean. 2) The ingredients taste healthy; fresh vegetables, housemade noodles; and the broth is not too heavy or oily 3) The seafood is fresh 4) There is bar seating. There is only bar seating with seats in a rectangle so you will be facing strangers if you look ahead. It is loud so keep that in mind; see if it's suitable for your dining occasion and who you are eating with. Cons: I wasn't impressed by the broth or meat quality. The place is expensive but they do have happy hour. Portions aren't too big. The service is pretty good and it's easy to flag them down because some staff will be in the center of the bar.
