Friendly, casual, and relaxed. The server appeared to have a positive pep in her step, very energetic, and attended to all our needs/wants anticipated our next refill without missing a beat. I started with a fresh salad followed by an Avocado Burger it had the perfect natural grill flavor... Yumm 😋. The fries were crisp and fresh. Ended with a nice, more than generous piece of strawberry cheesecake, it was delicious. We will definitely visit again. 😀 Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Rogue Blue Cheese Burger
Went here for the first time and was super excited to eat on the River. We had a party of 6 (3 kids and 3 adults) and on a Friday night the wait time was 10-15 minutes, not bad. We got seated, ordered and it took 20-30 minutes to get our food. The food looked delicious! My halibut was cold 😭. My husband ordered a steak and it was super tough. Tough enough that he sent it back and asked for something else. It took forever to get a replacement meal. I hate leaving reviews like this but I believe an honest review may help them improve. I do have to say that the server was super nice Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Dungeness Crab blt Chopped Salad
The food was absolutely phenomenal! We decided to sit at the bar tables because of the long wait, everything was clean and great. The busboy was very fast on cleaning up it was impressive. Our server could use time management a little better because it took a very long time just to order drinks, food, dessert, and get our check. Taprock is one of those places we have to eat at anytime we're in the area. Every one of the staff members we encountered was absolutely wonderful; they were all friendly and extremely helpful. The menu is very good and fresh, with tons of variety including multiple gluten free options. The cocktail and mocktail menu is outstanding with lots of local twists on classic drinks. The only thing better than the food and drinks is the view. The restaurant is high on the bank of the Rogue River, and overlooks the Helllgate Jet Boat dock. It is a beautiful setting. The occasional loud car or motorcycle going across the nearby bridge is the only reminder that you're right in the middle of the city. Really, the only downside is that they aren't the cheapest place (but we're also big believers in you get what you pay for). We were there twice in the 3 days that we spent in the Grants Pass/Rogue River area and averaged about $30 per person each time we visited. Even if you can only stop in once, you won't be disappointed. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Taprock's Halibut Tacos

We stopped here for a late lunch on our way south on I5 to SFO. Since we arrived at an odd hour for lunch - we were seated quickly; they weren’t busy yet. We chose to sit indoors, and were given a table by the windows - it was gorgeous!! The restaurant is beside the Rogue river and the view from here is very pretty!! The vibe of the place is super fun too! I tried their Beet salad with a side of beyond patty. The salad was good - but could use a little more acidity! 🙂 The beyond patty was delicious though! My companion liked their hefeweizen beer & (what I believe was the) Mr Bachelor basil chicken with a side of sweet potato fries - and quite liked their food! If you’re in the Grants Pass area - I’d recommend a visit here. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
This was a great place to eat. The building is very nice with killer views of the river! We really enjoyed our food. As an appetizer we tried the twisted pretzels. A little too heavy on the mustard in the cheese sauce, but the pretzels were nice. My husband and I had burgers, him the hells gate fire burger and me the smash burger. He said it was very adventurous with the taste, bursting with many flavors. I really enjoyed mine as well. This is a really nice restaurant, so if you're wanting a more fancy feel, this is your place. Also, if you're wanting drinks, definitely go during happy hour though! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

There was a time when we thoroughly enjoyed Taprock but that time is long past. We live in Grants Pass and have eaten there many times. Ten to twelve years ago it was wonderful. Since then, it went downhill, then saw a brief period of renewal and now it's down again...way down. We stopped there for dinner Sunday evening. We had to wait about 25 minutes to be seated but, when we were finally shown in, we discovered that there were only about 4 tables occupied. We were told they were waiting for a server...whatever that means. Once we were seated, we sat there for another 20-25 minutes with no menus, no water...nothing. Once we ordered, it still took a significant amount of time to get served. About an hour and a half went by from the time we arrived until we actually had food and the restaurant was practically empty. And then, the meal was horrible. It was extremely greasy and overcooked. The manager came by the table to ask how our evening was. When I started to tell him, he immediately began making excuses about a party that was in the other room. When I got frustrated and suggested that maybe he didn't really care, he said, "Sorry you feel that way" and walked away. He obviously DIDN'T really care. It's a shame because they have a beautiful facility and the best location on the Rogue River. It could be a first-class, fine dining restaurant. But..it isn't. We'll not be returning to Taprock. Nice spot. Good food, but not the biggest portions. Unique building with artwork incorporated throughout. Stopped in Grants Pass for the night and found this place packed with a class reunion. Ate a Chicken Sandwich at the bar ($17) that was delicious but pretty small. The reunion crowd was friendly and the waiter comped my Arnold Palmer for being patient with what I assume was slower than usual service. Will definitely go back.
