Got really hungry pretty late so I realized this new place was open late. Ended up getting the jerk chicken, collard greens and plantains. The chef Andre also threw in a Dutch chocolate cake, service was great and so was the food. I would just say the rub on the jerk chicken was very spicy, I am a fan of spice but this was up there. Also when I arrived to pick up my food it was a little confusing, I would recommend a doorbell or some directions on how to pick up food for first timers. Ordered delivery tonight, had the Cajun creamy butter chicken and potatoes. $21.99, it came with one (1) small thigh. Whisky Tango Foxtrot. This store won't last long charging that much for a single 5 ounce chicken thigh. I also had the collard greens they tasted like they were cooked with a fireman's sock and 6 cups of salt. Get the ribs! Hands down, the pork ribs are my favorite item on the menu. You can purchase the "Naked Truth" combo to try them. It comes with red beans and rice plus an additional 6 oz. side. For my extra side, I ordered the collard greens. They are delicious and seasoned perfectly. If you enjoy a little heat in your greens, then you'll definitely like these. It's not pictured, but I also tried the sofrito stuffed chicken and the jollof rice. After the ribs, these two are my next favorite dishes! This was my first time trying them and they did not disappoint! The jollof rice is super flavorful and the sofrito chicken was juicy and scrumptious! So once you find this hidden gem of a Caribbean style soul food kitchen run by the man Dre you will be hooked. First off the sides are ridiculously good and flavorful. The collard greens are some of the best I’ve ever had and that jollof rice has just the right amount of heat without compromising flavor. Now for the main event…..the jerk chicken and the ribs……the chicken is so moist and just falls right off the bone. The spice levels are on point and a slight hint of smokiness at the back end. Same exact thing with the ribs they are moist and just melt in your mouth with a slight hint is smokiness and sweetness that hit the taste buds just right. The man is truly dedicated to good flavors and is a master of his craft. Order through delivery apps or check him out at the north county food hub in Oceanside at 3760 oceanic way. The food here is AMAZING! The Sofrito Chicken is delicious, the Red Beans and Rice are incredible, the fried plantains are just like Mom used to make. The ribs and greens are OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! The Servings Sizes are great for the price. One of my favourite items and I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE everyone to order is Tasty Buds Gourmet Cheesecake! It's literally sinful. So good. Great spot to order for lunch, family dinner, or catering for a special occasion, 10/10 highly recommend. The Owner Dre, is a great community member and all around a Master Chef in the Kitchen and Outstanding Guy! Our holiday tradition had been to try a new cuisine ever year but we may be breaking tradition next year and coming back here again! The catering experience was fast and efficient and the food was SO GOOD. The greens were the best I've had anywhere, and the ribs were juicy and tender. Everyone in the family loved it! I just happened to be passing by in the area, and noticed this new place. I went in, and it is the best soul food I’ve had yet!!!! The ribs literally fall off the bone, the collard greens are just like my grandmother’s, and I’m a sucker for cheesecake! The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. My family and I got the Jerk Chicken, Pork Ribs, red beans and rice and greens. The food was delicious! The meat was tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. The greens were the best I’ve ever had and a perfect compliment to the red beans and rice. Great food and service. I highly recommend.
