Very good location-wise, only a 10-15 minute walk from Fuzhong MRT. Inside, the atmosphere is very relaxing and aesthetically pleasing. The food is great which is especially surprising since the price is very affordable. You can even refill your miso soup and white rice as much as you like. The salmon sashimi I ate tasted fresh. Only complaint I can think of is when there is a long line, the waiting area gets very cramped since it shares the floor with neighboring Sushi Express. Overall a very good restaurant, likely the best Japanese food in a 1km radius. Especially good place to eat with friends.

pretty standard diner. food quality was just good. like eating at an Applebee's or Denny kind of feeling. a little pricey for what you get considering you're in Taiwan. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $400–600 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

I would say the food was so so but the price is reasonable. Free flow of soup and rice if you take the set meal.

I have been to few of these 8 restaurants around Taipei. This one I recall specifically because we ordered fries. The tomato sauce served with the fries was about an even tea spoon at most (must have used a knife to level off the sauce on the teaspoon). I actually sent it back. The wait staff misunderstood that I did not want it. I had to go and ask again for it, then they bought along what was 2 even teaspoons worth. I think when he saw the look on my face he understood. He returned so that the small pottle was 3/4 full - which is what I feel should have been from the beginning. Otherwise don't offer it. I do not recall the other 8's being this stingy with sauce offerings in the past, rather the opposite. Just that one little thing has put me off going to the 8's since. Which is a shame as I liked some of their dishes.
