This was our first time at Tex-Mex Bar and Grill. The food was really good!
We were there on a Friday night, which is "Fish Friday," so I got the Seafood Platter. The flounder was beer battered and really good. There were large fried shrimp and clam strips, which were my favorite! The crinkle fries were perfectly crispy and tasted very good!
They have a wide variety on the menu, so I'm excited to go back and try different things!
The service was excellent. Very personable but also on top of things. The dining room is very small but you can tell they do a huge take out business! It was really nice to hear the staff calling people by name as they came in!
I'll definitely be back!

Very good food ,and friendly staff ,with reasonable prices with today's economy. A wide variety of selections, and never had anything we didn't like . Also it's a small local business, such as my self and always support local, that is just putting the money in your local and neighborhood economy.

French Toast Plate
After seeing the reviews online my husband and I (mostly me) just had to come and try this place out. We were not disappointed at all! I got steak tacos ($1.50 each on Tuesdays), chips with queso and salsa, and just for the rave reviews we got the okra. Hubby got the hamburger steak with fries and slaw, and there was no regrets to be found at our table. The gentleman that sat next to us was an obvious regular and was so informative to what was good to eat that I am sure there is nothing he wouldn't recommend. Tamales are on my next visit as I've never had them, and apparently THIS is the place to get them.
We will be back no question about it!!

Great food at reasonable prices. But tiny place that can have very slow kitchen service. They cook orders in order no matter what. So if someone places a large takeout order ahead of you, you will be waiting a long time for your food.

Amazing place! Stopped here because we were in the area and saw all the great online reviews. The reviews were not wrong at all. The menu was extensive even though the restaurant was small. We got our food right away and they were some of the best tacos we have ever had. They were definitely the most stuffed lol. Thank you for a great experience!

Absolutely worth a trip from anywhere in Gastonia. Fresh delicious food from burgers to burritos.
A cozy little place with inviting decor and people who make you feel like family.
For what you get you can't beat the price. Try Taco Tuesday out and you'll understand what I mean but never only go on a Tuesday oh, they have specials every day!
It was my grandson's and my first time going to Tex-Mex. It was great. The food we had this time was the chicken Chimichanga. Hugh I tell ya. With chips and salsa. Afterwards it was time for a dessert. What a display, of pure pleasure. I will show pictures also. Prices are great , the staff is so friendly. Knowledgeable about products. It not just it's good. It is.. this is what's in it. So if you have never had it before. You may just try it. It is a place I would suggest to my friends and family. For sure. I will be a regular from now on. So iam sure we will see each other soon. Oh iam not sure if it Was just a great night for music or its always the same upbeat songs. Loved it. And there are picnic tables outside. It was a great weather day. So again thumbs up to the staff. Fun night.

I drive by this place every day when I come home from work and it’s always packed. The wife and I decided to give it a try last week for lunch and we are very glad we did.
I had the Campechana Burger - a burger, chorizo, pepper jack cheese, chipotle mayo, avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions on a hoagie roll with a side of fries. Delicious!
The wifey had a Philly cheese steak sub (I know, right?!) and since she only eats half of everything I got to enjoy the other half and it was really good with a side of fries.
Our little dude ate a hot dog with fries and he smashed it so we’ll say it passed his taste test.
I also started with an appetizer but I can’t remember the name of it, but I’ve included a picture with this review, and these little things were delicious! Spicy and tasty! The creamy avocado sauce was banging.
They have a very nice menu that should appeal to the whole family and there are plenty of sides to choose from. They serve beer, which I didn’t see at first (dang it!) along with soda, bottled water, and tea. Cozy dining room with outdoor seating. The waitstaff are attentive and friendly and the food zips out of the kitchen.
So glad this place is right down the road from our house. I plan to conquer this menu one item at a time while supporting a local business which is always better than a chain.
Love all the food at Tex mex! But this 4 piece beer battered cod plate is extra fabulous! And the price is just right! (Already had a piece before the pic was taken) Nom Nom!
Tex Mex is mine and my wife’s favorite restaurant. We love the hometown local atmosphere. Staff is always awesome and like family. And the food, the food is freaking awesome. We’ve been for breakfast lunch and dinner. Hands down best food around!
