'The Fred' wasn't busy, so we decided to eat in the restaurant versus The Brick. We sat by the Christmas tree and had a very nice quiet dinner. The decor gives an older vibe closer to the period. I got the Goat Cheese Lasagna, which appeared to be different. It was very good and the sauce had great flavor. Hubbie got the sirloin with veggies. It was cooked medium versus medium rare, but he enjoyed it, and there were no leftovers. Glad we were able to experience the restaurant. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

This gem of a hotel is a beautiful little OASIS in Boonville! The hotel and restaurant are charming, they have done an amazing job of preserving the history. The staff was superb, they went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of - in both the hotel and the restaurant. Their prices are superb - in both the hotel and the restaurant. The food was fabulous! We had a hard time selecting what we wanted because everything sounded good. Good variety of food to pick from, and some unique selections. If we could give them 10 stars out of 5, we would. You must go here, you won’t regret it. We’re already making plans to come back, and we’re from Florida. The food was sub-par for the price .. the French onion soup tasted like Campbell's soup from a can with slices of cheese thrown on top. The potato soup was a little watery and not creamy and thick the firecracker shrimp was not very good tho the waitress tried hard she seemed to be new .. the out door tables have slats in them and everything falls through.. not good quality dining ... basically a blah experience Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

So not going to lie, the food was soso to eh. The food is overpriced and not savory enough to be at the level. The french dip was "can" tasting with little effort. It was luke warm not hot. The fire cracker shrimp was cold and slimy and the breading did not stick to the shrimp. Honestly im not coming back. I do live in the area and felt like bringing my folks here.. kinda embarassed and disappointed. But waitess was nice and did her best. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3

I had high hopes for a boutique style historic hotel. But it seemed they had scrimped on the grab and go breakfast, banana, granola bar, no coffee in room. Room ok, small TV about 10 feet up on the wall. 1 very small bar of soap provided , chose the more expensive room with a view of the park. Nothing to do within walking distance. I read a review asking if it was haunted. Well I think so, I had the unexpected sensation of someone touching my arm , light two fingers as if to see if I was real. Just one touch. The pandemic effects on businesses was so sad to see.

Had been awhile since I had eaten there, decided to give it another go. The service was pretty good. They couldn't make the drinks we ordered, because they had not prepped. The expensive sandwich was salted and cooked to death. Bacon on the sandwich and appetizer was so hard, could have broken a tooth. And, it was so loud. I know it was not the staff's fault, but the drunk table across the room was deafening. This place tends to be hit or miss. I really have enjoyed the grilled cheese sandwich meal . Served warm and with perfect seasoning. Fries no need for condiments. The service is warm friendly, inviting. Ethnicity not a problem, mingling of several cultures normal. The hotel has went to great lengths to ensure the antiquated culture of its time built. Rustic architecture original wooden floors and furniture upgraded. A history available from staff, or a postcard at front desk area. The restaurant no need for RSVP. The brick room has been upgraded with a new bar and individual table and chairs. A live music performance, tips will play nearly all requests, tips accepted. Overall a well groomed staff to orchestrate rapid wants of the guests requests for drinks and food. A outdoor dining area available if you want a more intimate experience.Well done!
