During Covid times, we had some not so good experiences here (understandable IMO.) But since then I really have no complaints. Had the cheesesteak with beer onions…those onions were the star. Wish there was more cheese but still a great cheesesteak, meat was cooked well and well flavored due to the onions. I wish I didn’t get full off of the sexy fries so I could have eaten the whole thing. 😂
My husband had the short rib grilled cheese. Wouldn’t necessarily call it a “grilled cheese” as there is hardly any cheese. With that being said, he still loved it. He couldn’t stop raving how flavorful the sandwich was. So despite it not being a “grilled cheese,” it was still a great sandwich.
Sexy fries never disappoint.
Service was great and pretty quick considering how packed the place was.

As someone who appreciates a cozy dining experience with fantastic comfort food, I have to say that The Butcher and The Barkeep truly delivers. From the moment my wife and I stepped in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. The ambiance of the restaurant sets the perfect tone for a relaxed evening out.
Now, let's talk about the food. My fish and chips were absolutely delightful - crispy, golden batter encasing tender fish fillets, served with perfectly cooked chips. It was a classic dish executed flawlessly. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her shrimp and grits, which were flavorful and satisfying. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring we left feeling happily satisfied.
One thing that stood out to us was the attention to detail in the presentation of each dish. It's clear that the chefs at The Butcher and The Barkeep take pride in their craft, as every plate was not only delicious but also beautifully plated. The combination of excellent food and charming ambiance makes this restaurant a must-visit for anyone in search of a comforting dining experience.
Overall, our evening at The Butcher and The Barkeep was delightful, and we can't wait to return to try more of their enticing menu offerings. Whether you're craving classic comfort food or looking to explore new flavors, this restaurant is sure to impress. Highly recommended!

Sexy Fries and Hush Puppies
The food was average, and reminded us of bar food (which is sad because the pricing is not comparable to pub food). I got the gochujang sloppy joe, which was not at all spicy, lacked any sauce, overcooked wagyu beef, the buns were drenched in the slaw and meat juices. The plate came out looking like a mess, looked like they wanted to be rid of the beef so they gave me it all. The Beet salad was good. The coffee creme brulee, was not brulee'd enough we could still see the sugar crystals and it had no crack, also the coffee creme brulee taste was just gross (coming from coffee lovers). But the bacon in the shortrib grilled cheese was perfectly crisped, at least they got that one right. The service felt rushed and uninviting. The ambiance was also loud, untidy, with an unusual layout and a dark lighting. Overall, not a nice dining experience

Good apps. “Sexy fries” are yummy, house salads good, really good mixed drinks. Got the cherry bomb. SKIP THE FALAFEL. Worst I ever had, it looked like chicken nuggets… will be trying something else next time….

Sexy Fries and Hush Puppies
I have been going to Butcher since they opened their doors. Place has always been great and consistent. Tonight we dined in and we’re disappointed. APP: sexy fries were different. Seemed larger cut and skimpy on the sauce. Still good but not as good as before. The waitress was so kind (this is solely a food quality review) and did let us know they had some new chefs. ENTREES: My husband got the falafel, not as flavorful. I got the pork belly tacos (this was a new try for me here) and the pork was flavorless and very dry. We both got greens aside our entrees (I used to LOVE their house dressing- it was white, tangy and just so good) they changed it to a basic balsamic. Our service was great, atmosphere was same as usual, we were just disappointed in the food quality and hope Butcher uses this review as constructive criticism. We are local and would love to keep coming back!
