Don't plan on Dining in. It's very busy and not that big. Service was slow. Food was great just a very small restaurant get it to go call ahead. I just got back day before from Scotland where I had the best Fish and Chips I'll ever have but save the plane trip these taste great. Price is not bad. We’ve been going to this place since it’s grand opening at the old location and still love it! We take all our guest here and they always request it when they come back. After spending 3 years living in England, this is the only fish and chips we will eat! Always fresh, flavorful and hot! The service is amazing as well and many times you will find the owner there cooking! We are closer to the one in Nexton but, this location has our heart because of the atmosphere! This was the best fish, chips, curry sauce and smashed peas! It was a very popular stop and we are grateful it was our first stop after arriving in town! The fish was crispy and cooked to perfection. The portion was exceptional and the curry sauce or chip “gravy” was delish! Enjoyed every morsel! The Codfather Proper fish and chips is the best fish and chips joint in North Charleston. I ordered the world famous fish and chips that consists of a 8to 10oz cod fillet with home cut fries with 4 kinds of chips sauce: mushy peas, tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, Curry sauce, plus Hot sauce,and malt vinegar. $14.25 for the large fillet but lots of other choices for less hungry folks in the dining party. A full bar option with seating for eating as well. Alyssa offered wonderful service and was very knowledgeable of the options. I highly recommend this restaurant when visiting Charleston as it's a short trip up meeting st. Very nice decor and ambiance. Fantastic Fried cod! It’s the best I’ve ever had as it is fried to perfection. Crispy and crunchy outside. The fish is still very fresh and moist. The chips, meat pie and sausage roll were really good as well. The Manchester poutine was just ok as I have had better. The homemade tartar sauce is out of this world! Very different from your usual run of the mill store bought kind. Only small issue was we had was someone accidentally take our second order of cod. You order at the counter and get a number on your receipt, but the waiters don’t check the guests receipts and just shout out the number when they bring out the food. I'm guessing someone else forgot their number and took our food. The waiter was good about owning the mistake and got us a freshly fried cod within minutes. Definitely go here if you are ever in North Charleston! The food is delicious! We really enjoyed eating here. It was very busy but the wait for food was not bad. There is a small bar good for some draft and an outside seating area. They have the best fish and chips I have ever eaten. The tarter sauce is an excellent blend. It has a touch of sweetness. I will definitely be taking this drive again. The fish, the chips, the tartar sauce, the curry sauce, the mushy peas were all beyond incredible. I could have that tartar sauce and curry sauce with just about any meal. They are that good! This place is a walk up and place your order.. and they bring it out. The fish is delicious with lots of fries!! Very nice price too. The building and seating is pretty low key, but the service is good. Drinks are self service at a fountain machine or a walk up bar with adult beverages. Its small with seating for 30 maybe?? I would order and sit outside next time.
