We had a great experience here, food is absolutely delish and the waitress who assisted us was lovely and friendly! The atmosphere was a bit loud but it’s a restaurant it’s going to be a little noisy. However, the food too a while to arrive. A table of 6 got their food before us even though we placed our orders first… but overall 10/10! An exceptionally disappointing experience for amazingly disproportionate prices for nothing more than an over rated bar meal. The most disappointing and expensive meal with virtually no flavour, with service that was almost non existent. Do not waste your time or money on this venue. My sister and I have been contemplating going to this restaurant because it's so far away from where we live but let me tell you the FOOD was soo delicious and out of this world😱😱especially the wings!! I travel to East London on business and this is one if the restaurants I like to visit each time. Always busy, good service and fairly priced. Im in the fuel security business so when I noticed the DIESEL sauce I had to try it. It a creamy Jalapeño sauce milder than a green pepper sauce that was disappointing as it was vet mild. We were very impressed with this restaurant. It's not big, but they are big on excellent service and great food! There is such a wide variety of side dishes to choose from and their steak is done to perfection. Love the atmosphere ... it is definitely worth visiting The Cow and Milk Shed. Today was my second visit to the restaurant. My first visit was weekday evening, at the bar side of the establishment but today I went for a weekday lunch at the restaurant side. The menu is the same so, you get to have the food whichever side you sit in. Both times it was not very busy. The food here has been amazing both times. Their serving sizes are very generous. The staff was friendly and attentive both times. I will certainly be back and would recommend it to anyone - for solo, couple or group dining. Sadly, my birthday was ruined by this place. Reading the reviews, I thought this going to be a lovely evening out. But what I got, was some old steak that had been soaked in brie and the garlic cream mashed potatoes, that was a pack of ” Smash Instant Mash Potato”. My partner’s seafood dish, the prawns must have been last year’s catch, not nice at all. I personal view is, there is no “love” / passion in the kitchen, no heart. Me and my girlfriend decided to go out for lunch yesterday and ended up go to the cow shed. We have been there before and had great food, awesome service and had a really good time. Yesterday was the complete opposite We waited close to an hour for our milkshakes and when we received them it was as runny as water We waited close to 2 hours for a burger, pizza and onion rings!!!! The restaurant wasn't even busy. There was 3 tables of couples (including us) The service was terrible, the lady hardly said a word and came over really aggressive. We went to The Cow Shed on a Friday night for a group dinner, and we were welcomed by very friendly staff. They accommodated our group with a tablet even when we forgot to book, and their place was busy. The staff were very friendly, knowledgably and accommodating. And the drinks and the food were amazing. Our steaks were cooked to our liking, the burgers were some of the best one out there, and the portions are spot on! Amazing spot and the food was exceptional. Well priced for the quality and was a very good steak. Potato skin starter was also a winner. Thanks for the great experience and would highly recommend. Is the best restaurant in EL, hidden gem.
