This place never fails to amaze us. We've been twice and both times, our food was incredible. Halibut was cooked perfectly, everything actually seasoned well. Outdoor seating is always the way to go unless it's freezing out. The food is always delicious and although it can be mildly pricey, meals are always fresh and ever-changing/diverse. They have a great assortment of wines to choose from and the place can be very romantic for a date, anniversary, or intimate birthday dinner if you let them know what you're celebrating. As long time owners in the adjoining condo community, we desperately wish The Fireside would be consistently great. No such luck. We have memories of tragically bad experiences 15 years ago, then an amazing and welcomed recovery we hoped would be the new normal. Just this weekend we took another family and our high hopes, and were once again sadly disappointed. The service was friendly but inattentive. I'm not sure if they're chronically understaffed or morale is low, or both. Our server was civil but not overtly friendly. The restaurant was busy but not full and things took an inordinately long time to come out. Everything from drinks to food. Our dining experience for four adults and four younger teens was 2.5 hours. At one point toward the end of our meal drinks took 15 minutes to come out. "Sorry, the bartender got backed up". Piles of empty plates and glasses sat on our table, some never cleared by the time we left. We found ourselves stacking and preparing the dishes for the bus person in an effort to expedite the process. The food was just okay. Some dishes were better than others and none were bad, like in the past. The Fireside is back to being a mediocre experience for dinner and certainly overpriced. The deserts were pretty good and we've had good luck with happy hour outside on the deck. Maybe we'll try happy hour again with hopes it hasn't suffered the same disappointing decline. Tiny portions. $39.00 for three course prime rib dinner. NOT !!! Thin sliced meat like you would expect on a sandwich. 5 small carrots and even smaller potato bites. Came with a tiny salad and dessert as well. After dinner we went home and got something to eat. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

I usually don't eat Clams in out side of my home country besides soup. Bur the Manila Clams reminded me of Mussels in Belgium that i had about 20 years ago. I and my wife wanted drink them all. Next was flat iron and halibut. +1 more on halibut especially crispy skin with delicious toppings. But flat iron was good too but we had already too good ones already. Various wine selections were another +1 and the price was reasonable. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100

The Fireside is a beautiful restaurant with an upscale feel and menu to match. We started at the bar where Morgan poured us a couple beverages and discussed bourbons and other liquor while we were there. We enjoyed chatting with him. We then were seated at a nice table for two in the first dining room. I didn’t get a chance to see the other room, but it sounded as if there were people enjoying their dining experiences there as well. We had the oyster appetizer to start, and the oysters were melt in your mouth succulent and delicious. Next we shared a salad that was yummy and dressed well. Then we shared the bisque, and can I just say, my compliments to the chef! We both practically licked our bowls clean. Oh, and they bring you bread, but not just any bread. We don’t generally eat bread, as a matter of fact, my husband is diabetic and it’s not something we even keep in our home. But omg, the bread was so dang good. And, they serve it with an olive topinade that is so delicious, we each ate a little on its own! Ok so back to the dinner — we each ordered an entree and my husband ordered the pork chop, while I ordered the sea bass. This would be the only wrinkle of the evening. Unfortunately the cooks did not properly store the sea bass (I think it might have been a refrigerator issue) and so the server brought me a menu and asked if I’d like a different item and I selected the scallops, which were so so so yummy. But, my husband’s pork chop was overdone, and we suspect it may have had to sit under a heat lamp while the chef prepared my scallops. It’s unfortunate, as our dinner was not cheap and my husband was disappointed, but he chose not to alert our server and wait for another entree. The server was kind enough to bring a dessert menu at the end of our meal, and again we don’t generally eat desserts, but since it was on the house we selected the crème brûlée & we both had some and yes, it was “lick the serving dish” good. We enjoyed every aspect of service here and even though there was a small wrinkle, this was still a 5-star experience overall. Best dining experience I had in a while! The food especially dinner was just absolutely amazing. The food definately deserves more stars and the staff is super friendly! I like how the restaurant focuses on local ingredients. I will definately tell others about this place and come again!

While visiting Port Ludlow for a day, we stopped in at the Fireside for a relaxing lunch. Just the views from the porch are worth the visit to this beautiful restaurant. My daughter gobbled up her shrimp pasta dish. The burger was cooked perfectly and the French Fries were crispy and delightful. We really enjoyed the tapenade starter and ate two bowls between the 5 of us at the table. We enjoyed a delightful Mud pie for dessert as well. We will certainly visit again the next time we are in the area! Delightful!

I stay here for business retreats so I've been here a few times. Friendly staff but service is usually pretty slow. Food is inconsistent but the menu is adventurous and overall good. Last night the pork chop was a little dry and thin, but the sauce was incredible. The delicata squash had the skin still on, which I thought was a little weird. My $16 wine was one of the smallest pours I've ever had in a restaurant. The creme brulee was delicious but the texture was like scrambled egg...something went wrong. It does feel overpriced for what you get, but it's a great option when you're here. So...dinner was "meh" but breakfast this morning was fantastic. Hottest coffee I've had in years and eggs and potatoes were cooked perfect, with beautiful toast, real cream and butter, and great experience. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
