The Great Impasta is a quaint little place just as you get to the Main Street block of buildings when coming from Topsham. It looks to have a nice outdoor patio during the summer. My group went on a Wed night, and I was surprised at how busy it was, however we got right in due to the fact that I called in the morning to put our names on the wait list. They only take reservations ahead of time for parties of 6 or more. The friendly staff was very good at keeping customers moving, but we did not feel rushed. Parking is limited on the side of the restaurant, but there are some spots in the back. The food was good, but they didn't make their own pasta. The garlic knots, though, are to die for!!! Large servings allow you to get 2 meals out of your evening. They also seemed to have a busy door dash/takeout clientele. Have eaten here many times before, but this will be our last time. Garlic knots were rock solid on the outside, and the dough was tough in the middle. The bolognese tasted very off, and was extremely watery. There was no presentation, it was just a copious amount of off-tasting meaty sauce on top of dry, bland, tough pasta. This is really upsetting because I’ve never had a bad meal at the Great Impasta. Every other meal, whether it’s lunch or dinner, has been nothing short of excellent. But this one, was terrible. It’s even more upsetting because I was not expecting this low-quality. On the flip side, the food came out in pretty good time. I guess there’s some good in that. Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2

Called in name and what time we would be there, waste of a call, it doesn't matter, we waited 40 minutes. Went there and ordered Shrimp Scampi in oil & garlic sauce, I received shrimp scampi in water & garlic, couldn't even eat it, totally disgusting after a while waitress came over an asked if we wanted a box to go, I told her no and why, my wife added she would take it, the waitress came back and I said I didn't want it, she left came back with a little attitude and said gave you 40% off, I paid the bill and gave waitress 30% tip of what the bill would have been without the discount. So waitress should have no complaints. I won't go back after hearing waitress and cooks conversations. Shame on them. First time coming here. The salad (which comes with all entrees) was very good. Not your traditional salad but I probably could have had 5 plates of it. We got the carbonara which was good but I don’t think i would get it next time. The garlic knots are endless but I would consider them on the doughy side and I was not a huge fan. A cute and but very busy place. My second time there and the food tasted like canned tomatoes on top of box spaghetti. The garlic knots taste of freezer burn. Everything, including dessert, mediocre at best. Good italian food should taste fresh made with fresh ingredients. My mussels taste like tonsil stones. Seriously. Cute Italian place with tasty food and kind servers. I especially loved the atmosphere and all the hand painted art on the walls. It wasn’t too loud and very cute. Garlic knots were good and I liked that they had some twists on the menu instead of just the typical Italian dishes. Wonderful atmosphere, great staff and really good food. Expect a short wait, it's a small restaurant, but it's worth it. I got lasagna for dinner and fried mozzarella as an appetizer, both were hot and delicious. The drink list was pretty good as well. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20

Drive down south from Acadia with 10 ppl group and every restaurant near coast line that have 4.4+ star are full from boothbay down here. Thai is the only restaurant that offered us a table at 7:30pm. We got seated at 7:45, which is way later than our normal dinner time. My little one is very hungry and the front desk staff helped us to get order in really quick. The buns and salad are soso. The bun is a little greesy and salty and the salad is drenched in sauce. But the meal is much better and we are all very satisfied. We ordered Verdura al Napoleon, Bistecca Fiorentina, Pollo Tuscany, Pesce Cipolla, and Pesce Arancia. The vege dish is yummy. The chicken is flavorful, juicy, and creamy. My husband and kids liked the steak. These are good cuts that are tender for 3 year old to eat. The saltiness balanced by the noodle and its marinara sauce. Note that the marinara sauce is not salty and strong but very refreshing with good ripe tomato flavor. I loved it. It has a hint of spiciness to it and kids can eat spaghetti with a little sauce on it. Both haddick dish are to the sweet side. The cranberry/honey one is sweeter than the canalized onion one. But both are ok to us. But kids loved the flavor. Service Dine in

Love the ability to order more than five different gluten-free entrees! Vegetarians have choices too. The new owners have kept the best of this long running Italian restaurant and added some of their own touches. The garlic knots are amazing and now each diner is given one white and one whole grain . Bring your friends and family because everyone can order something. Bathrooms are still in the back so you get to see and smell the great food.
