Wonderful place! We had been planning to visit it for a long time. We got there yesterday. We went in the evening after the theater.
Decoration: chic, tasteful.
Staff: they served us quickly, the waiter helped us navigate the menu. By the way, the site is designed well.
Food: we ordered mushroom salad, fried khinkali with beans and mushroom soup. Everything is great, not too salty. I especially liked the salad - juicy, varied in composition, spices in normal quantities.

In our month in Tbilisi, my wife and I visited The King and the Bird twice. Both of the meals were among our favorites in our time here. We tried two types of khinkali, two types of pastry, and the chicken and beef mains.
The wine selection is great and has many options by the glass.
We could not recommend this place more!

Mefe da Chiti (king and a bird) is amazing place if you want to try traditional Georgian food with modern touch: every dish you taste will surprise you with new flavours and mixes. The restaurant has huge variety of meat and vegan based foods. The owner is absolutely charming, helping you out if needed and simply creating the atmosphere of comfort and coziness. The location is quite charming as well: right behind Opera house. The prices moderate and the memories unforgettable. ♥️

Khinkali with Beans & Coriander Sauce
On our visit to Tblisi, we wanted to experience traditional Georgian cuisine and stumbled upon this place that seemed to have a happening vibe located on a busy street. Most of the waitstaff seemed indifferent and disinterested. We walked in waiting to be seated, and though the place seemed about 50% occupied overall we were offered probably the least desirable spot right beside the kitchen door, when there were clearly better options available. When asked, we were told that the other tables were "reserved", although we didn't see them being occupied for the longest time post us being seated. We wondered if this was just a one-off incident or was the general treatment of non-local guests here. A distasteful way to start.
We ordered the kachapuri, couple of home made chachas, fried khinkali and sausage platter. Five stars for the kachapuri and drinks. The khinkali however was a let down. It was supposed to be a "smoked ham with bean" filling when it turned out the other way round - mostly bean and finding the few "bits" of ham was more of a treasure hunt. The so called "sausage board" was just an overpriced (costed 30 Lari!) arrangement of chopped-up heavily salted store bought deli meats that we couldn't bring ourselves to even sample with all the excessive amount of salt.
Overall : Come here for the vibe, stay for the drinks, and leave to another place for the food.

One of the best restaurants in Tbilisi.. We had a delicious ‘beef chakondrili & tashmijabi’ and a tasty cheese khinkali with pesto sauce. The service was good; our waiter Tazo was very helpful.. The music and the whole atmosphere were pleasant :)

Super cozy place in the middle of Tbilisi. Good Georgian food, some traditional and some modern. Beautiful interior and and nice atmosphere. Very nice and helpful staff. They opened restaurant one week ago, but already did the great job and become very popular! Evening time it is usually busy, but day time is enough places to visit, without booking. Prices are pretty okay-ish, i would say not expensive at all! highly recommend this Restaurant! All the best!
Have vegetarian soup and khinkhali, which were delicious, it's an underrated gem in tbilisi.

Very good place to eat alternative khinkali with delicious sauces. About the price, it's more expensive than other places of Tbilisi. I don't recommend the lobiani of this restaurant.
The total cost of two orders of khinkali, one lobiani and one kettle of tea was 57 Gel.
