Our experience with The Mixing Bowl for our wedding cake was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we met the staff during the 2023 Richmond Weddings Winter Show we knew we would be in good hands. The team at The Mixing Bowl listened attentively to our vision and preferences, and they went above and beyond to bring it to life. The planning process was fun and unique. We loved the tasting box-to-go and being able to sample the cake flavors; mixing and matching to our liking from our home. Once we were ready to order our cake the staff was friendly, professional, and accommodating throughout the entire process. They were responsive to our inquiries and made the entire experience stress-free. On our special day, seeing our stunning cake on display was truly a special highlight from our day. The cake we ordered was a work of art. It beautifully designed to match our wedding theme, and the taste was incredible. Our guests loved how delicious it was! It exceeded all of our expectations and added an extra touch of elegance to our celebration. We're immensely grateful to The Mixing Bowl for their exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. My new husband and I wanted to do a dessert table for our wedding and we LOVED all the desserts from The Mixing Bowl! We got just a 1 tier 2 layer cake and it arrived exactly as we asked, sleek and minimal and the perfect stage for our cake topper. We got mini cupcakes which were the perfect size for a bite and they were moist and so flavorful. The eclairs were a crowd favorite with the banana cream! They are soooo good! Eclairs are my favorite dessert and these were filled nicely and still so yummy days later. The cookies were crunchy and a great size. We got a lot of comments about how good all the desserts tasted. From the tasting box, the booking and updating our final count, the process was easy. We were so pleased with the entire spread and definitely recommend! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

They did it again! We got another cake from them and AMAZING! Updated pictures. The bake and decorate the BEST and yummiest cakes!! The last two times I have order edits for my daughters birthdays I have been extremely happy with the results!! Thank you for making their day extra special!

My mother in law has been in the hospital and we drive by this bakery often on our way back home. We decided to stop in the other day and it was a wonderful surprise find! Delicious delectables - they didn't disappoint. So many to choose from and all yummy. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. We will continue to support this local treasure! Highly recommend!!

Stopped by on Valentines Day after seeing the Facebook post they had sweet treats for the holiday. I bought 4 cupcakes, 2 heart shaped personal cakes and a 2 layer heart shaped cake. I took the cake for a friends Galentines dinner, when the cake was cut the layers of cake we stale and hard, and the icing just crumbled. The cake was not even editable, the personal small cakes were a surprise for parents and my mom said the same about those. The 4 cupcakes were the BEST out of the almost $50.00 that I spent. I love a bakery and The Mixing Bowl did my daughters first birthday cake 20yrs ago. I sent a message on FB with no response, I did say in my message no need to respond but you would think the manager or owner would've responded.
