Loved it. How can you go wrong with cheese made on the premises? When you walk in you can see cheese curing in large wheels through the windows. The shop is in an industrial area, but inside is very warm and welcoming. They have wine, snacks, and grilled cheese. All the little touches, and great service made this a great experience. Plus if you get in the mood for beer there is a brewery right next door.
The Mystic Cheese Company is the coolest little cheese shop. My pics are pre-Covid, and we haven't been there since everything shut down, so hopefully the info in my review is still accurate. Before Covid, Mystic Cheese was doing tasting events pretty regularly, and we were really enjoying them! I think we've been to four different tastings, one done with wine, one with beer, one with mixed drinks and I can't remember what drinks accompanied the fourth tasting. Every pairing of drinks and cheese was well thought out and well paired, but I think our favorite is still the wine and cheese pairing. We have also been here for the grilled cheese (excellent!!) and cheese plates. They have wine and beer available to purchase in shop, along with crackers, jams and the like. They make their own cheese and sell it in the case along with other delicious options. They've even let us bring a cake in to celebrate a birthday (no dessert sold here). The owner and staff are fun to talk to and excited about what they do. It's a small place but they make the most of the space, and I love that you can see the cheese aging in the next room. ❤️🧀🍷
Incredibly knowledgeable and friendly staff that's genuinely excited about their product and sharing it with customers. We sampled several chesses after talking about what types we were interested in and I honestly could have walked away broke, everything we tried was unique and delicious. I can't wait to go back. Their grilled cheeses were also classic preparations yet totally perfect. The mustard was curiously amazing and I wish I asked if it was for sale.
I was really excited about this new Mystic Cheese Co. location and finally stopped in tonight to check out the new shop. The spot is wonderfully bright, clean, and welcoming. Right away, the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. I’m a big blue cheese fan and glad I got a sample of the house made “Bow Head Blue” as it was awesome. In addition to the great cheese selection, they seem to have a good array of charcuterie, drinks, and grilled cheese sandwiches made to order. Not many places like this in the local area and very excited to be a frequent visitor!
Very small place that is quite away from the main beaten path. One could even argue that it is hidden away gem.
As the name suggest it specializes in cheese. However they have all of the accoutrements that go well with cheese.
The food itself is really good and cheeses are really nice. All of the menu items are in some sort of collaboration with some other local business.
Also you can order food and then pop over to the brewery. They will bring it right back to you
Delicious cheese and the best pizza. Well crafted cheese no matter what style you get, but when you get there pizza made with three different cheese, the results are amazing! Not only is the cheese amazing, but the crust is the best around. Come here for all your appetizer or dinner needs! I can't wait to try their grilled cheese!
Ordered everything I needed to make my own charcuterie. They’ve got a cool selection of stuff I’ve never heard of (canned octopus?! I’m down!) and their house cheeses are delicious (I like the Cachalot the best—the Melinda Mae is a close second). Hope they get to reopen their cafe this summer!
