James, the owner, is so personable. It's like he's invited anyone and everyone in Castle Rock to come into his families kitchen for dinner. The portions are sharable and so tasty. We tried the house salad, the penne with vodka sauce, lasagna with the bologonese sauce, fried ravioli, clams, and some warmed apple turnovers for dessert. Topped off with a coffee! "Delicious Cuisine For The Whole Family" I absolutely could not recommend another restaurant to go to in Castle Rock than The Old North End. Their food is truly out of this world! The owner and staff are extremely friendly people and will do their absolute most to make sure you're coming in happy and leaving satisfied. I've had a number of their dishes, but my personal recommendation would be their chicken Parm sandwich! I would highly recommend this establishment to family and friends. Don't let the outside make you wonder - Everything inside is Incredible!! Our friends from Castle Rock recommended The Old North End ...and the food & service were beyond what we thought - my wife and I split a calzone (lots more than we usually eat ...and every bite was delicious!) ...and save room for dessert (lots of great choices) ...and Saturday nights, there's live music! ...we'll definitely will be back! Today was my second time eating at the Old North End Restaurant (lunch today dinner the first time). Today's lunch (part of the new lunch menu) was great: a real house salad (a small meal in and of itself, made with mixed greens, tomatoes, olives and pepinos) and a delicious (large!) chicken parmesan sandwich. The owner, James, is a great host. Flavors are great, food is high quality, and portions are large for the price. I'm going back! We come here about 2 times a month and love it. We always get the mussels in the white wine sauce and this is a family favorite. Their pizza is authentic and better than the rest of the pizza in Castle Rock. The food is always delicious and the service is really great. We love the spicy gnocchi. Our kids love it too. My wife and I and family have been here several times. We have always had exceptional service. The calzones are fantastic. My wife has had several different entrées and has never been disappointed, always great. My grandchild loves the pizza. I recomend The Old North End for anyone wanting Italian. We had the pleasure of lunching at a great restaurant worthy of a review!! We heard about their giant and delicious calzones and went for one to split. We were not disappointed, fresh ingredients, excellent sauce and crust. The dressing for their Caesar salad, made in house was so good and the mussels in wine sauce was delicious! We was very impressed with the service and the food. Even with an issue in the kitchen, the service was fantastic and the food was amazing. It was refreshing to see a restaurant that everyone in the build took pride in the experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Sat around for over an hour waiting for 2 12 inch pizzas, never got our appetizers which would have helped. After an hour we get offered bread, what happened to my appetizers. I don’t want or need bread. Than we are told the owner is teaching some new kids…..: screw me I guess…..::: will let everyone know my experience. It SUCKED!!! Don’t let the exterior fool you! The food was delicious. Got a pepperoni and cheese pizza (it was huge) and the eggplant Parmesan with fettuccine. The flavor was incredible and they were pipping hot.
