We decided to brave the cold and give the River Bistro a visit for dinner. We were pleasantly greeted into their warm,cozy restaurant. Our dinner did not disappoint. I had the chicken Parmesan which was cooked just the way I like it. Nice and crispy on the edges and tender in the center. It was delicious. The portion was huge. Two breasts and plenty of pasta which gave me a nice take home dinner for today too. My husband seafood special which was a large piece of pan seared salmon, shrimp, and scallops on a bed of saffron rice. He loved it. The portion was large also. What was especially nice was that the chef came out to our table to make sure that we were pleased with our entrees. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant. Delicious tapas, great location and the sweetest staff! Everything we got was SO good! The empanadas are an absolute must, garlic shrimp has so much flavor and the easy like Sunday morning burger will not let you down! Definitely worth a visit! Everything was great from start to finish. The location is right along the river and walking distance from anything downtown. The food was fresh, delicious and expertly presented. The service was fabulous as well. My water was refilled, I was checked on just enough and my food was served hot. I highly recommend the River Social to enjoy fabulous cocktails, delicious food and great service steps from the waterfront. The espresso martinis and bread pudding are heavenly! We went on a Thursday night. We made a reservation and it was definitely not needed as we were the only people there. The service was great! Our waiter gave us a lot of recommendations of things to do and places to eat while we are in Providence. We started off with the garlic shrimp - 10/10. First timer to this Providence riverwalk gem. We're a party of 3 that included a child, made reservations on Thurs for 6:00pm. No problem being sat inside, although, we could've sat outside as well. It's a small but, trendy restaurant with a long bar and inspirational quotes adorning the walls. Enjoyed their Hummus and pita appetizer. We were asked if we'd like more pita bread but, weren't told we would be charged for it. We also tried the Lamb burger, Falafel sandwich, and cheese burger, all paired with fries. Both service and food were fantastic. Although, double check your bill. We were accidentally charged for a BYOBurger. The manager was kind enough to refund the difference to our CC. Food is pretty good. The waffle bites with all the toppings were awesome! Fun brunch drinks. Great views right on the water. This place is fun. Don’t let the poor reviews discourage you! The food was cheap & tasted like it. Overall, it tasted like something I could have done better myself at least for the French Toast. There was not an evident cinnamon flavor despite that being listed as on the menu. My friend thought the omelette was okay, and was only willing to finish it because it was almost one and her first meal of the day. The bacon was overly greasy. The potatoes were done well & well seasoned, but nothing special. The service was as bad as the food. We got seated quickly, and our order was taken fairly fast. However, it took almost 40 minutes to get our food. It came out without the side of bacon at first too. The omelette came out without the appropriate sauce. Overall, we had to ask for everything we needed including more water, etc. - would not come back. In response to the reply, there were about 7-8 tables seated while were in the restaurant, and it appeared there were at least 2-3 waitresses working as well as a hostess and bar staff. Food was great and location was nice with outdoor dining right on the river. I had the chicken and waffles, they were delicious! I’m not a fan of spicy food, so the sriracha sauce on them was just enough to add flavor without being too hot. Good selection of drinks, too. Loved getting to watch people walk by and gondolas float down the river while we ate. Would recommend! Service Dine in Meal type Brunch

Amazing food and atmosphere! Staff was phenomenal and I can not wait to go back! The Oreo French toast was so good and probably the best French toast I’ve had to date, very soft and delicious. The views of the river and the sun rays through the windows was very nice.
