Consider that what you’re paying for is taxed heavily - an aesthetic, historic tax.
The servers are relatively attentive, but maybe a bit inexperienced. The mains came with the salads causing the tables to be packed with wide brimmed plates. There is no thought beyond let’s get their food to the tables as soon as it’s ready.
The food is ok, but not worth the premium. The steak is not worth RM150, even though it’s done properly. The soups not worth the premium, the salads generous with ingredients but falls short of its price. Again think of it as a tax.
The decor is nice, the atmosphere is well kept, and that’s what you’re paying for.
Let’s not start with the branding, copywriting, menu design. Just remember: the food is okay, just that you’re paying an additional instagram/history tax.

The best place to have avocado milkshake in Kuching! Really really thick and super creamy. So satisfying! Not overwhelming sweet because they are using gula Apong in the blend, which makes this drink so delicious and legendary. Definitely will recommend more people to come and try this.

Good environment, located in a heritage building with a quiet calm ambience that’s good to linger and chat in. Staff were very friendly and helpful with food and drink selections.
Food was good, balanced overall - highlight was the pollo ajillo starter; the oil was flavoured well to dip bread in, and the chicken was tender. Mushroom soup was great too, with full depth of flavour. Would recommend!

Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Waiting for 35 mins before lobster soup arrived. Soup tasted like prawn (head & shell) stock and very salty. Wagyu was delicious on its own. The black pepper sauce was ok. Cod was juicy and tasty. Both sides got roasted vegetables and creamy mashed potatoes that were the stars of the dishes. Panna cotta was ok .. not too sweet. The waiters were attentive but something amiss in food delivery system as food arriving at our table was lukewarm. For a booked and fully paid meal waiting 35 mins before the entree was an organizational mayhem. For improvement of service delivery and food quality the restaurant should consider to cater only Christmas menu during Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

The venue itself is a beautifully restored historic building. The dining room is spacious and multi-level. The menu reads well with plenty of options. The meals we chose for breakfast were quite tasty and the coffee was great. Unfortunately my partner finished eating his breakfast before mine even arrived because it took a long time. But that was the only fault really. I’d still recommend to visit, a little pricey but worth it.

Wonderful dinner experience in a beautiful restaurant rich in history. We especially enjoyed the Hokkaido scallops pasta, cod fish with creamy risotto and the wild mushroom with truffle oil soup. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and the oysters were really fresh too.
They have a good variety of wine mostly from Australia. We had the house red glasses of Wolf Blass Shiraz and Cab Sauv, and a gin cocktail.
Service was lovely, attentive and accommodating. Food came out pretty quickly and we truly appreciated the effort they put into our birthday request at such short notice. From booking to dessert, everything was great.

The things are overpriced and the service is very lousy, mismatched with the price.
My friends are in the restaurants and ordered RM400++ bill. I came late and join their table. Not less than half an hour, one of the staffs told us to move out from the restaurant because they got reservations from other customers. I told them I just arrived not less than half an hour and give me 10 more minutes to chit chat with my friends. Then the staff telling me that their boss is watching CCTV and unhappy with my group being too long in the restaurants. Also, the staff say we will charge you rental fee if you insist to stay longer.
Well, if they want us to move out, they should inform us early yet I have paid RM39 for two drinks and I have been told to move out less than half an hour of sitting. They should not be taking my order in the first place! So I ask the staff to take away my drinks and move out from the restaurant. And I tell myself, well, this is the first and also the last time I will be here.
The staff need to be well trained. I do understand they need to make money to sustain the business. If they could manage well and inform the customers in the first place, using a more professional way to request from me, I don't see any issue with this.
