We have enjoyed every single trip to the Smoke Pit. The food is quality, reasonably priced and the staff are warm, welcoming and so friendly. Every meal is top notch. Their portions are all fantastic and the salad in particular is unbelievably large. My husband loves this place! He works off of 321 so they order from here often. We went as a family for the first time tonight and took our almost 7 month old! The smoked Turkey was to die for, our baby boy agreed. We also enjoyed the sliders, sweet potato casserole, deviled egg potato salad, Mac and cheese and the corn bread. It was all soooo good! I saw the sign for this place a few weeks ago and finally managed to stop in. When I ordered the stock market, I thought it was a sampler platter of their brisket, sausage and pulled pork. Boy was I wrong! It's one HUGE sandwich!!!! I did my best to fit it all in my mouth, and I succeed (one time). Pics for proof!! Once this sandwich was pulled apart for more manageable eating, I was able to savor all the flavors individually and I have to say that it was all incredible!!! I will return. Service was excellent. What can I say? BEST brisket in North Carolina! Succulent, juicy, TASTY and the price is not too expensive! Also, get their burnt ends and mustard chicken! Amazing. Food was delicious. Tender Ribs and brisket. Putting on barbecue sauce not needed but if you do. Look out! Flavor bomb! Mac was good wish it was a little more burnt on the top. We look forward to eating here at least twice month now. The portion sizes are perfect- enough for left overs. The food is a 10/10 every time we go. & most importantly - the service is the best part! Demi served us the first time we came in and ever since we’ve requested her section. She knows the menu well, she always makes sure we’re happy, and always greets us with a smile! Food was really good. I had the pulled chicken with a slice of Texas toast and soft bun (they did 1 of each bread for me bc I couldn’t decide) it was great. Very flavorful. My brother had the brisket with fried okra. He really enjoyed it as well. The second time we went service wasn’t as great as before but still pretty good. Oh! A hidden gem! Clean and well-lit space. Nice and welcoming staff. The service was good. It took a minute to get a clear understanding of which wines were available but honey I forgot all this confusion when the food arrived. Delicious!! The restaurant is new to Gastonia. While visiting with friends this was high on their list of places to dine at for dinner. Everything I tasted was amazing. The brisket is a favorite of mine but the barbecue also won me over. The Mac and Cheese was so creamy and delicious. The collards were also good as well as my cornbread. I tried almost everything I didn't have on others' plate and I wasn't disappointed.
