So I think of myself as a foodie, I love trying new foods and good ole down home cooking. And let me tell you, YOU MUST STOP AN SEE MY NEW FAVORITE PLACE! If you LOVE down home cooking, bring u back to grammas house cooking, then you have to stop in at THE STRETCH !! it's under new owners and they have it together ❤️ 😉 from the absolutely amazing food to the awesome friendly atmosphere and comfy vibe, it's the spot to stop !! My husband and I had initially planned to go to a different cafe but they were closed at 2pm on weekends. I knew of this cafe but had never even been inside the truck stop side of it. It was clean and inviting, the staff was friendly and cared about our experience. Being a driver and away from home I really like places that make me feel like im visiting a friend, this place did just that !!! My husband is truck driver and we where together looking for a place to eat breakfast at 5pm and this place does not disappoint. The waitress was very friendly and caring. We ordered a Skillet for each one with all the meats, onions, pepper and mine includes the pancake for 12 dollars. We are definitely coming back. It's refreshing walking in from the start, because the diner is now so much more open with how seating is arranged, which is a huge step up from before. The new owners are so sweet and customer orientated. They have made an impact on me which says a lot. The food has definitely stepped up its game as well!!! My husband and I have been here several times for dinner and each time the staff have been very friendly and the food, amazing. Their fish fry has become one of our favorites in town; it's a great value for the amount of food and quality you receive. The staff remember you and make you feel like family. I'm glad we have another place in Fond du Lac like this that feels comforting and like home. I'd give them 100 stars if I could. Defiantly recommend!! I can't say enough good about the food and service. The eggs were made to order and were perfectly cooked. I've never had hash browns taste so good. Our wait staff was very friendly and efficient. I have and will continue to recommend The Stretch Restaurant to family and friends. This spot is an amazing family friendly place. I came here with my family and they all loved it. Their service and food are excellent and the prices are great. I am usually a picky eater but I had no problem with this restaurant. I loved their cheeseburger, baked potato and much more meals that my family ordered. I can't say how the food tasted. We were seated, waited over 15 minutes. Was not overly busy. Waitress never came to our table. When we got up to leave a waitress asked did she ever come over and take your order? I told her no, and your customer service is terrible. I had hoped for finding another local place to eat.
