I wish I could put more than 5 stars for this magical place.
The atmosphere is super cozy and romantic. We felt immediately at home. The owner and staff are the most friendly and warm people.
Food is beyond, fresh with high quality products. The menu surprised us with its original recipes and unique flavors.
Last but not least, we had the best Mezcalitas of Bacalar.
Highly recommend this hidden gem!

Very nice restaurant and attentive and friendly staff. We decided to go to dinner there because we really liked the originality of their recipes, the quality of the ingredients and the use of Mexican corn to prepare the dishes. Everything we ate was delicious and prepared/presented with great detail. We had the opportunity to sit at the bar next to the kitchen, where we could observe the preparation process of our dishes. Very pleasant experience!

Just amazing! Wonderful vegetarian and vegan options, beautiful ambiance, kind staff. Can't say enough good things about this place! Would recommend wearing bug spray if you come in the evening and mosquitoes tend to like you.
Cute anecdote - I'm a solo female traveler and arrived relatively early in the evening, so no other customers were there yet. The staff seemed to be celebrating something with cake, and it turns out it was the owner's birthday the next day. By coincidence, so was mine. When I mentioned this, the server brought me a piece of cake! The owner also came over to my table to wish me a happy birthday and thank me for coming to her restaurant ☺️

My experience here was excellent. The place itself has much attention to detail in the decoration and a relaxed vibe. I appreciated how friendly the staff was including the waitress, bartender and even the owner who greeted us as well. The food was delicious and presented in a creative way. My favorite part would have to be the desserts; we couldn't make up our mind so ended up ordering all three! Would definitely recommend Tierra Ixim for anyone looking to have an unforgettable culinary experience.

The food was so fresh with great vegan and vegetarian options. It has live music that was excellent. The service was a little chaotic, but they were all very nice.

This place was amazing! As a Mexican I was skeptical of some of the food and it taking away the traditional tastes of Mexican food. However this was not the case. The enmoladas and pozole were my favorite. There was a depth of flavor and you could tell the chef care about the ingredients used in their plates. Everything tasted clean, fresh and had a depth of flavor with every bite! Delicious! My wife and I ate here every night we were at Bacalar! I highly recommend the enmoladas and pozole.
The ice cream was also a beautiful surprise of taste. You could taste the freshness of the fruit in every bite.
Just try it yourself! The staff was very friendly and the vibe is very chill and relaxing. I could stay here all evening.
Thank you Ixim for such a wonderful experience!

A beautiful place with great food and service. Probably one of the best in Mexico in the last 3 weeks. Platano fritters and taco con pescado are very good. Also the chocolate cake! Well done

Stop:
I think this place is overrated. Fancy looking restaurant but lacks substance. The sevice is lacking, they forgot our order; two beers down and they asked what we ordered in the first place to then tell us that they had no more tortillas.. (first and last time anyone in mexico will tell you they have no tortillas). “Luckily” they had enough for cauliflower “al pastor” taco. It was bland, not sure worthy of “al pastor” surname.
The tamal with green mole, was alright, nice mole but the tamal could have more flavour for the $150 you pay..
They offered tlayuda with green sauce and mushrooms instead of the lack of corn tortillas, which again is surprising considering they even have educational info about corn.
The tlayuda was like a pizza with salty beans, green tomato sauce was good. The mushrooms must be an abstract concept cause they weren’t there.
We paid $650 pesos for 3 dishes and 2 beers.
In my opinion not worth it, go to an authentic taqueria like el chilo and stop supporting this tourist traps. Overpriced and pretentious. Focused on appearance rather than what they are actually serving you.
