We stopped in on our drive to Wellington. Such a pleasant surprise!
We didn't order food, but bought drinks and snacks from the small shop. The toilets were clean and the service was friendly. Thanks for a pleasant stop on our journey!

A warm tavern with delicious dishes and good proportions. It is also a free camp and you can park for free for the night.
The first time I came here, I had ordered the $ 29 dish consisting of meat, fish, shrimp skewer and fries. It was the best meal I ate in New Zealand !! I was delighted.
I come back then 6, 7 months later hoping to eat this famous dish again. But I could not have it the evening I came, I was very disappointed, I had made the road to eat this dish.
I ordered the Tihoi Burger instead which was very good.
But the $ 29 dish is just exceptional and worth the trip !!!
Stayed here for a night in the van. They have a range of tasty Gluten free toasties on the menu. They are aware of cross contamination and clean the equipment before making them. Super cheep so i had 2!
Enjoyed a great meal after a long day on the road. Both the steak and fish were quite tasty and the staff was fairly friendly. Not a bad campsite either with a clean bathroom and plenty of space.
Better than it looks! Came here for a jug of lemonade after a bike ride on the Great Lake Trail and had a burger. All good! You can get coffee and food and ice cream as well as a beer, which is perfect really!! Could benefit from better signage 👍

they do not accept travelers with pleasure. We consumed but they reproached us for having come without consuming by shouting at us and calling us arrogant. They didn't even listen to what we had to say. They took us for scumbags.
