The Tamoka Outpost is the most amazing outpost I have ever visited, inside or outside a park. It is far more than a camp store or an outpost. In addition to renting kayaks, canoes, and bicycles, the store owners offer free, friendly advice to help people enjoy their stay in the park. The first thing you notice when entering the Tomoka Outpost are all the plants. Add the greenery to the inviting rockers and bench seats on the porch and patio, and you can’t help but feel welcomed. Unlike many camp stores I visited, the inside of the Tomoka Outpost is bright, clean, and organized. There is so much to see that had the owner not mentioned it; I would have missed that the interior is designed like an upside-down boat. A skilled carpenter, he designed and built everything. It is made entirely of wood and has handcrafted natural and stained arches and shelves. The shelves are stocked with an assortment of food, camping goods, and recreational supplies. A recently added section has a dark-stained and highly polished window shelf made of wood salvaged from the river. It is reminiscent of a handcrafted gunwale. The ledges display clothing, unique souvenirs, and handmade goods. If you want to linger longer, and you will, you can enjoy a beer or wine on the rockers or bench seats outside. Outside the Outpost is also a great place to catch a sunset over the river.

One of the best camp store in a Florida State park. Cold beer on tap or in bottles. Hot boiled peanuts too. Sit out on the deck for a relaxing view of the river while you enjoy your beverage. The camp store is fully stocked with everything you would need at your campsite. They also have a large selection of gifts. This is where you can, rent kayaks or canoes to explore the beautiful natural river.
We rented kayaks and thoroughly enjoyed the day out on the water. We saw dolphins, and many variety of birds. Enjoyed the quiet solitude of the area.

Great place to grab some supplies and launch kayak out into Halifax waterways. Several isles nearby to explore. Brackish waters so you’ll see dolphins in addition to various wading birds etc.

We were so excited to find out that the park we were camping at had a cute store! The family who runs it are wonderful and the dog is super sweet. We enjoyed a few hours out on the river in one of the rental canoes, ate some boiled peanuts and drank a couple local drafts. Highly recommend checking them out when you’re at Tomoka! Best place to see the sunset.

One of the best set up and managed shops I've seen within a Florida State Park (and we have been to numerous). The boat and kayak rental is convenient, affordable, and well organized. The snack bar has a few basics that are great if you're in a pinch for a quick bite and even serves a couple truly local beers on tap! The store is nicely stocked with basic camping goods of all sorts, state park merchandise, and a handful of grab-and-go foods. On our 2-hour kayak voyage in the surrounding waters, we saw dolphin, manatee, little blue heron, pelican, terns, robins, great egret, snowy egret, black vulture, and cormorant. Manatee didn't photograph very well but that and the dolphin were a real thrill to see up close 😯! PS If you are a state park passport holder, this is where they stamp at this park!
Great place to get snacks, drinks, or camp supplies. They rent canoes and kayaks for a reasonable rate and are very knowledgeable and giving. You must try the local Tomoka Brew. We had a great day at the park and scooting around on the water.

Tamoka Outpost is a great camp store at a great campground. For an outpost store, they have an extensive selection of camping, fishing, and cooking supplies. They also have local honey and other goods, plus souvenirs from the park. If you buy firewood, they'll deliver to your site. Additionally, you can rent bicycles, kayaks, and canoes or take a guided fishing or sunset tour.
