Me levante Domingo en la mañana y le dije a mi esposa vamos a comer en algún lado y buscando en google map vi este restaurante y decidí ir. Es nuestra primera visita aquí, es un lugar poco pequeño , esperamos un poco pero valió la pena espera. El servicio muy bueno . Nuestro mesero fue Helmer muy atento a todo. La comida esquisita 👌🏼. Ordenamos café negro lo cual honestamente no era café era más bien agua con sabor a café pero aun así le preguntamos al merecero sí podía cambiarnos el café mas cargado pero el bien amable y sincero nos dijo que así era el café y se disculpó por eso. Luego ordenamos pecan pancakes , los cuales estaban ricos. Luego nos trajeron la comida , lo cual tuvimos que dejar aun lado los pancakes por la buena porción de comida . Mi esposa ordeno el Omelette godfather y yo el eye opener ambos super delicious. El jugo de china delicioso. Verdaderamente una gema escondida este lugar. Lo recomiendo 100%. 🇵🇷 y 🇵🇪 I got up Sunday morning and told my wife we are going to eat somewhere and looking on google map I saw this restaurant and decided to go. It's was our first visit here, it's a little small place, we waited a little but it was worth the wait. The service is very good. Our waiter was Helmer, very attentive to everything. We ordered black coffee which honestly was not coffee it was rather water with coffee flavor but even so we asked the deserver if he could change the more loaded coffee but the very friendly and sincere told us that that was the coffee and apologized for that. Then we ordered pecan pancakes, which were delicious. Then they brought us the food, which we had to put aside the pancakes for the good portion of food. My wife ordered the Omelette godfather and I ordered the eye opener omelette both super delicious. The orange juice was also delicious . Truly a hidden gem this place. My husband and I have made this one of our favorite spots in Slidell. The first time, we had the following: Pecan pancakes( love these), breakfast potatoes, grits, Gulf Coast omelet, and the Godfather omelet. Superb!! Then we came back another day for lunch. We had the following: Crab cakes ( full of crab), crawfish cornbread ( this was the special of the day...OMG, delicious comfort food), blackened red fish, and green beans. We will be back for King Cake. The waiter ( female, not sure of name) is always welcoming and helpful. Thank you ma'am for your service ❤️. My husband and I wanted to try somewhere new for breakfast, so I did a Google search, and found this little gem. Was a little thrown off by the name, Taste of Italy, assuming it to be a lunch and dinner establishment. Boy was I incorrect. Herman took care of us with a smile, and he gave spectacular service. The restaurant is small and quaint. You feel a good vibe when you walk in the door. The food was out of this world. I had the "diet plate" and my husband had the Godfather. The dishes were truly some of the best food we've ever eaten in Slidell. Large portions, a medley of flavors, and half of each of our plates we're taking home. Want something different that will blow up your taste buds? Give yourself the pleasure of dining here. Can't wait to come back and enjoy some other eye catching entrees. Would give them 10 stars. I stopped by here yesterday and the nice man working the front looked genuinely disappointed to tell us there'd be a wait. The food smelled so good and everyone looked so happy that we stopped back by today instead. Our waiter was the epitome of good customer service and (dont tell my mom) the meatballs were the best I've ever had. Mom had nothing but compliments for her omlette, and we both had to ask about their wine so we could get some for home. I've eaten at a lot of fantastic restaurants in Slidell, but this has got to have been the best experience yet, and that's saying something!
