Recent bride here and I had to share the amazing experience I had at Van's Bakery. They made it so easy to select the style and flavor of cake. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted but Van was amazing providing expertise anywhere I had questions. They also have cake stands available to rent to make your cake have more wow factor without having to add an additional layer to the cake! I ended up not being able to use it because the table was too small and they took it back no problem. They are also able to deliver the cake as well which made my wedding day stress free! For the cake we had a strawberry cream layer (my favorite) and and coffee layer (my parents favorite) and my guest gave it the highest complement possible soft and not too sweet! Bought $160 worth of moon cake as gift and for our own enjoyment. Found one molded from the inside. Don't know how many others had the same issue. This is the second time this happens to us. First time about two years ago, they didn't even bother with refunding when we wanted to return a box of unopened cake with receipt. This time we'll see, I either change it to a 1 star or a 3 star, depending on how they respond. They could just lose this customer forever. There will not be a third time.

Om-gosh! This place not only does beautiful wedding cakes for reasonable price, the cake taste good too. I usually do not eat cake but i almost ate 4 slices of the chocolate. Van Bakery in Garden Grove are the best in Town, Hands Down, Thank you for our wonderful Wedding Cake. I will be back for bday cakes too.

Got three items at closing time today and was expecting the Japanese cheese cake to be fresh but it was bitter and spoiled. Both of us spit it back out. Very disappointing, esp given the Van's reputation. The sponge cake creation seems OK.

They sell stale and mouldy cakes. Not recommended.

The cakes are pretty good. They have a lot of traditional flavors. They are a bit expensive though. Some are more expensive than 85 degrees and look worse. Some of the color combinations are weird. The service was also very bad. They didn't even show me the cake after writing happy birthday on it. They just sealed it in the box. I had to take the tape off to make sure everything was spelled ok. I liked the flavor but will go elsewhere for better service.
