Good food. Good drinks. Servic3 could be better . Went there for dinner and ordered chicken Philly and a grilled chicken salad and long Island for my cocktails. Rr were clean. Also. The food is good. Give this a try . It's in an older pizza hut building converted to a sort of older sports bar. Good place to grab a beer with buddies or maybe a game date too. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

I've been wanting to try this place for some time and finally got the chance. It was not what I was expecting, however it definitely did not disappoint. Fair beer selection. Nice menu selection. The BLT was good, but needs more bacon. I can't really recommend it. The upside-down pineapple cake drink tastes just like a piece of upside-down pineapple cake. Amazing! Cool, local bar atmosphere. Most of the people there seemed to know or be familiar with each other. Definitely a place I can recommend and would like to return to. Nice place! Definitely will be coming back. Drinks were on point, wings were great! Upside down pineapple 😁 So not sure why I can not write another review on this establishment but I visited on 1/19/24. This was a very enjoyable, relaxed evening. The atmosphere was great! The manager Jason was awesome!! His personality was amazing!! He went above and beyond for all the customers including us. Our waitress Catlin was awesome as well! This is hands down one of the best experiences I've ever had! I was checking out the area and was looking for a place that was local. Seeing the menu on line "Da Big Nasty" burger caught my eye. When I got in I was immediately greeted at the bar by the manager Jason and the bartender (I believe Ashley). They were both so welcoming and inviting thanking me for choosing to come in there. You could definitely tell that they appreciate your business. While it wasn't extremely busy you can tell there was some locals at the bar. I ordered the burger and you would have thought most everyone in there was excited for me to try it. I'm certainly glad I did! The burger itself was huge. I managed to eat all of it but I couldn't finish the rest of the chili and potato tots. Everything about the burger was delicious! This is a must-stop if you're ever in the Gastonia area. They will treat you like you've been coming there your entire life. I will certainly be back soon! Thank you to Jason and the team for your hospitality! My friends and I waited over an hour for a couple hot dogs, a burger, and a ham sandwich. The fries were pretty good and the sandwiches were about what you can expect at this price point, but the service was horrible. Our waitress only stopped to check on us a couple times while we were waiting, was pretty slow on refills, and didn't even apologize for the ridiculous wait. The best wings I've ever had in my entire life. Jason is outstanding and gave us the low down on all of their sauces. Our first round of wings were the Whiskey Wet. They were incredible. Had a nice sweet and tangy taste to them, much like the traditional NC yellow bbq sauces you can find. My son liked them, but wanted something hotter and spicier. He decided to go with the Hot and he said they were incredible. They came with jalapeño peppers and cayenne pepper sprinkled on them. He loves wings and really loves our home town wing place, but he said these might have topped that. On top of the great flavor, the wings are absolutely huge. I'm a big dude and I was stuffed after about 12 wings. We were in Gastonia for a few days and found this place on our last night. Wow, I am so excited about this place. The Man and I went on a Sunday at lunch.. wanting something different. Whiskey Mill gives off a fun bar atmosphere with a much better than average bar food. The décor is interesting, and I just couldn’t stop taking it all in. There were beer and alcohol signs on the ceiling, ok.. but the black & white artwork on the walls really draws the eye. It is reminiscent of times gone by with the mills & hard physical labor that made Gaston County what it is today. The food was just about perfect. It took a minute to get but the single server that we saw was all over every occupied table. Many people came in, sitting at the bar. Lots of bar space for eating & socializing and just having a good time. We started with the Southwestern eggrolls.. OMG singularly almost the best I have ever had. Sooo good…The ranch didn’t taste out of a bottle but homemade. I got the Black Jack Burger and … wow yet again…The sauce has the tang of Jack D but not the alcohol overlay. I wasn’t asked how I wanted my burger which is fine. Mostly of the red meat lately has been well anyway… But the flavor was great and not burnt. The drippy sauce just gave it that extra something else. The Man got the Philly Cheese, and it wasn’t too bad. All in All, it was a great experience with great food... Great wings in a converted former pizza chain location is just the start of what you will find here. The higher end bourbon selection was limited to 3 (whiskey is in the name, so they have to represent), but they were worth it, and VERY reasonable for the wallet. The wings are fresh, not frozen, and quite large. The service was very friendly and quite attentive despite the crowded space. Check the daily specials, and you might find decent deals.
