My husband and I went tried out their maki sushi because we heard great things about them. First, their rolls are very thick and fills your mouth completely. I very much enjoyed the feeling, although you can ask for thinner slices if you want. So far, I have been here twice and really enjoyed their maki rolls. Normally, I like to eat a lot but an order of calamari and 3 rolls was enough food for my husband and me. The chefs are Hispanic and have great personality. Our server was also hospitable and was attentive to us. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30

I’m always impressed going to Yumi’s! Always try the specials! This hot spot has literally changed Excelsior - everyone loves sushi now! What a fantastic addition to this town. I’ve been coming to Yumi’s every time I’m in town and went tonight. We had the Tuna Crispy Rice appetizer with a Tonka Roll and K-Pop roll that was a special for the night. I’m an avid sushi lover, and my dad is a newbie, but we both absolutely loved the meal. Can’t go wrong with what you order! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50

The menu is overpriced for sushi. I've got just salmon and tuna rolls, but I had more rice than fish. The server forgot about our appetizer, the selection of food is really small. They have specials rolls that many other guests choose to order but I didn't find anything that I like. Left hungry as I had 90% of food untouched. I have no complaints but also no desire to return. Chicken kushiyaki was okay, a little bland, a little burned. Chicken teriyaki was okay, not bad but nothing to shout about. The sushi rolls are decent sized portions, very nice. The Marianne roll was .. interesting .. somehow more Mexican in flavor than Japanese, with the cilantro and jalapeños. One of the best sushi restaurant in Twin Cities. The rolls are huge and tasteful. Service is great! You can't go wrong with whatever rolls you order. We have tried them all and they are all amazing. I don't recommend order udon noodles since it is very basic and in my opinion not really worth the price. Otherwise, highly recommend Yumi for sushi date or dinner with family. My son didn't like sushi but after taking him there the 1st time, he loves it and asks to come back all the time.
