We stopped in Murchison for a lunch stop on our road trip. We walked past the cozy looking truck and stopped for a short menu check. At first I didn't realize everything is vegan because I simply didn't expect it. For me as a vegan this was totally lucky and I didn't expect it at all! We had the Zen burger, the deluxe burger and the filo roll with mashed potatoes and salad. After that we also tried the carrot cake and the cheese cake and totally loved it. ALL of the food was excellent and very fresh! Even my omnivore friends were amazed. Definitely recommend coming here for lunch. The food here is fresh, made with love and absolutely delicious. If you are passing by on your roadtrip do come here! It‘s not only the best food spot between Westport and Nelson, it might just be one of the best in NZ. Truly a happy find. We had Empanadas which very super fresh and tasty filled with lots of goodness, fantastic soup, a great toasty with actual tasty bread (not whatever else English speakers are calling bread) with pesto and a salad. I don’t remember what we paid but it was great value for sure. We are not vegan but you won’t notice it is. I only realised it was a specifically vegan place way after we had finished eating. I’ve been sick in my stomach when I’m stop by Murchison on the way to Nelson. I’m hungry but I don’t want heavy food. Ordered a Deluxe Hamburger and hold to eat when I’m arriving Nelson. I have gone past this place many times while in Murchison, while being a big time meat eater was skeptical to give it a try. I was pleasanty surprised how good the burger was, you can taste the high quality of ingredients and care that goes into preparation of the meals.
